In 1978, Gregory M. Woods graduated from Montana State University in Agricultural Production – Agricultural Economics.  After graduation he started farming north and south of Inverness on the family farm, as the fourth generation on the farm that was started in 1911 by his great grandfather.  Since that time, he has more than doubled the farm and is now farming with the fifth generation, son Matthew Woods.  Matthew Woods graduated from Montana State University in 2018 with a degree in Ag Business.

In the mid 1990’s, the farm began planting quality, high-yielding foundation or registered Spring/Winter Wheat and Durum seed through Montana State University.  Our goal with planting foundation/registered or certified seed is to produce extra bushels per acre of high-quality, high-protein grain, while keeping our fields clean and free of unwanted weeds and grasses.

Recently we have expanded the farm business to include becoming a registered commercial seed supplier through 7 W Enterprises, Inc.  In the summer of 2024, we installed a new 80’ Fairbanks scale and scale house and purchased a cleaning system.  We will have our own dedicated seed cleaning system completed to concentrate on providing you with clean, quality seed.

At the same time, 7 W Enterprises, Inc. joined the Salford Group as a team player in the granular applicator, fertilizer spreaders and tillage tools.  AWS Airbars were added to the package, along with Rite Way harrows and land rollers have long been known for innovative farm equipment that gives farmers the quality and functionality they need at the prices they can afford.
